We stand behind our merchandise
and make every effort to research & identify the marks. In some cases some
pieces of jewelry will not be marked. In the United States, it was not
regulated until the Metals Stamping Act of 1905 required that gold be marked in karat by
the maker. A plumb gold act was not passed until the 1970's. The
unmarked gold can be tested with acids, and the age of the piece of jewelry
can be determined by the construction, wear, design, and motifs etc.
